Educational Leave

 The purpose of educational leave is to provide an opportunity for members to improve their qualifications to the benefit of themselves and the Yukon educational
system. All applicants must have five years of service (or a minimum of five (5) instructional years of service within a period of six (6) years of continuous service) in Yukon schools. A year of part time work (.8 and over) will count as a year’s teaching experience; any other percent (less than .8) will be prorated).
 
All successful candidates must maintain full-time status according to the regulations of the accepted institution. Candidates shall have all their temporary service in Yukon Education recognized for educational leave purposes.
