YTA 50th Anniversary Bursary
The Yukon Teachers' Association, commemorating its 50th anniversary in 2005, established a bursary of $500.00 with the intention of supporting one student pursuing a post-secondary education opportunity. This bursary amount will be sent to the registrar of the institution of the successful candidate. The recipient of this bursary will be determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee as follows:
1. Applicants must already be accepted to a formal post-secondary program that will lead to the granting of a trades ticket, diploma or degree.
2. Regardless of an applicant's possible post-secondary academic achievements or credits earned to date, it will only be the applicant's grade 12 marks on a Yukon high school transcript that will be considered (high school graduation within last 5 years). The applicant with the highest average will be awarded the scholarship. In the unlikely event of candidates having equal averages, the names of the tied candidates will be placed in a container and the winner will be drawn randomly.
3. Winners of the other 3 YTA scholarships on offer (Doris Stenbraten Scholarship, Mary Gartside Scholarship, Elijah Smith Scholarship) are ineligible for this bursary.
3. Applications must be received at the YTA Office no later than August 31st.
